1.1 Interpretation

Words with an initial capital letter have meanings defined under the following conditions. These definitions apply whether the words appear in singular or plural form.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

 

  • Account: A unique account created for you to access our Service or parts of our Service.

  • Company: Refers to RetailX Inc., operating as AlpacaBOSS (also referred to as “We,” “Us,” or “Our” in this Policy).

  • Cookies: Small files placed on your computer, mobile device, or other device by a website, containing details of your browsing activity on that website.

  • Country: South Carolina, United States.

  • Device: Any device that can access the Service, such as a computer, mobile phone, or digital tablet.

  • Personal Data: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

  • Service: Refers to the AlpacaBOSS web application, iOS app, Android app, and associated websites.

  • Service Provider: Any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company, including third-party companies or individuals employed to facilitate, provide, or support the Service.

  • SMS Communications: Text messages sent by or on behalf of AlpacaBOSS to your mobile device with your prior consent, in accordance with our SMS Compliance Policy.

  • Usage Data: Data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure (for example, the duration of a page visit).

  • Website: Refers to alpacaboss.com and alpacasites.com.

  • You: The individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on whose behalf such individual is acting.

 

2. Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

2.1 Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. This may include:

 

  • Email address

  • First and last name

  • Phone number

  • Business name and address

  • City, state, province, ZIP / postal code

  • Products and services purchased

 

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when you use the Service. This may include your device’s IP address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service you visit, the date and time of your visit, time spent on pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

 

When you access the Service through a mobile device, we may also collect information such as the type of mobile device, your mobile device’s unique ID, your mobile operating system, and the type of mobile browser you use.

  • To manage your requests: responding to and processing inquiries or support tickets submitted to us.

  • With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers to monitor and analyze use of our Service, or to assist in delivering the Service.

  • For business transfers: Your personal information may be shared or transferred in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business.

  • With affiliates: We may share your information with our parent company, subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or companies under common control with us, all of whom are required to honor this Privacy Policy.

  • With business partners: We may share your information with business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.

 

The following specific third-party services are used in connection with our platform:

 

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to assist with data tracking for marketing purposes. Our pages may contain code that allows Google to track your movement through our website for the purpose of marketing our products to you.

  • Payment Processors: Credit, debit, and other payment transactions are processed through our integrated payment partners, which currently include BlockChyp, iPOSPay, MPG, and CardConnect. Each processor operates under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance framework. We do not store full card numbers.

  • Bitcoin and Lightning Network Payments: Bitcoin and Lightning Network payment transactions may be processed through LNBits, BTCPayServer, Ibex Mercado, or BitPay. Each provider operates under its own terms and privacy policy.

  • Email Marketing: We may use your name and email address to send periodic emails about our products and services. You may opt out at any time using the Unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

  • QuickBooks Online (Intuit): If you choose to integrate AlpacaBOSS with QuickBooks Online (QBO), your data will be shared with Intuit Inc. for business and marketing purposes under Intuit’s own terms of service and privacy policy. By enabling this integration, you agree to Intuit’s terms. We are not responsible for Intuit’s data practices.

  • SMS Communications: If you consent to receive SMS messages from AlpacaBOSS, your phone number will be used to send transactional notifications, support updates, and follow-up communications. Your number is not sold or shared with third parties for SMS marketing. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. See our full SMS Compliance Policy at alpacaboss.com/sms-policy.

 

5. Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

 

Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period, unless it is used to strengthen security, improve Service functionality, or we are legally obligated to retain it longer.

 

Data Deletion Upon Cancellation

If you cancel your AlpacaBOSS subscription, your data will remain accessible for export for 30 days following the cancellation date. 6. Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your personal data may be processed at the Company’s operating offices and in any other location where the parties involved in processing are located. This means your data may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

 

By using our Service and submitting your information, you consent to this transfer. The Company will take all reasonably necessary steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No transfer of your personal data will occur to an organization or country unless adequate security controls are in place.

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

The security of your personal data is important to us. We employ commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, including third-party security scanning and weekly security updates. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

Security is a shared responsibility. You and your team are responsible for maintaining strong passwords, device screen lockouts, and appropriate use of the role-based permission controls within AlpacaBOSS. See our Terms and Conditions for full security responsibilities.

 

9. SMS Communications

If you provide your phone number and consent to receive text messages from AlpacaBOSS, we may send you SMS communications related to your account, demo requests, support tickets, or follow-up from inquiries. The following terms apply:

 

  • SMS messages are sent only with your prior explicit consent.

  • Message and data rates may apply.

  • Message frequency varies; you may receive up to 4 messages per month.

  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance.

  • Your phone number is not sold to or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

10. California Privacy Rights

10.1 California Shine the Light Law

Under California Civil Code Section 1798 (California’s Shine the Light law), California residents with an established business relationship with us may request information once a year about how we share their personal data with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, contact us using the information in Section 12 below.

 

10.2 California Minor Users

Under California Business and Professions Code Section 22581, California residents under the age of 18 who are registered users of online services may request removal of content or information they have publicly posted. To make such a request, contact us at hello@alpacaboss.com with the email address associated with your account. Please note that removal cannot be guaranteed in all circumstances as permitted by law.

 

11. Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to websites not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

 

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification prior to the change becoming effective. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy will always reflect the most recent revision.
